We're having another prize drawing this week! This week you have the chance to win $10.00 in Algona Bucks that can be used at area businesses. Every challenge that you submit is one more entry into the drawing. The drawing is on Friday. Good luck!
Read!
Challenge 1:
You can read anything you want, but we encourage you to do a little research and read about how masks have been used throughout the ages; such as masquerade balls, African tribal masks, or Mardi Gras traditions. Just let us know that you read for at least 2 1/2 hours and you'll complete the challenge. If you choose this as your option, just select "Read" as your challenge when you're in the "submissions" part of the site.
Watch!
Challenge 2:
Watch a video of behind-the-scenes footage of how special effects or costuming are used in movies, or in a specific movie. What was the most interesting or surprising thing you found? Choose the "Watch" challenge and make your comments in the comment box on the "submissions" page to complete the challenge.
Listen!
Challenge 3:
Take time to listen to some songs from a movie or television score. Can you pinpoint when in the movie the song was used? Can you tell what's going on - a fight scene, a character death, a romantic moment? Choose the "Listen" challenge and make your comments in the comment box on the "submissions" page to complete the challenge.
Do!
Challenge 4:
Make your own mask or a costume. We encourage you to wear it to the library's Comicon! But, whether or not you attend the Comicon, choose the "Do" challenge, take a picture of your creation and upload it through the "submissions" page to complete the challenge.
