So, here I find myself in the middle of a book that is making Shakespeare easy to understand. Falling for Hamlet is written by Michelle Ray. It tells the story of Hamlet from the perspective of Ophelia. Ophelia has loved Hamlet for years and she is lost to know how to help him when the death of his father causes Hamlet to act in dangerous ways. The famous tragedy is brought to life in a modern telling of the story.
Another way to approach Shakespeare is found in graphic novels. We have several of the plays that have been depicted through words and pictures. Macbeth by Robert Deas, A Midsummer Night's Dream by Kate Brown, and Romeo and Juliet by Sonia Leong are just a few that you might look at.
