Not In the Script by Amy Finnegan is about a young actress who is chosen to appear in a a show about teens and school. You can imagine her reaction when she finds out she is set to play opposite her childhood crush. The problem is that she now has the opportunity to really get to know him. While all the drama takes place not only on the set, but also off the set, our protagonist is also dealing with real relationships and what it means to really care about someone.
Red Girl, Blue Boy by Lauren Baratz-Logsted is very appropriate for the season that we are currently in. It is election time and it becomes increasingly difficult to keep politics out of our two 16 year old rivals lives as they are thrust into a political romance. What starts out as an irresistible attraction becomes something staged as the political candidates decide to use their children to gain popularity.
