Speaking of Teen Book Club, we are reading the graphic novel version of The Hound of the Baskervilles. I read this book in novel version several years ago, and now I get to enjoy it in the graphic version. I really enjoy visiting the classics through visual literature. So, if you are ages 13-18 and want to join the discussion, stop in and ask about a copy of the book at the front desk.
We have been busy at the Library designing a week of Sherlock Holmes fun. I am really excited about Sherlock Holmes Week from October 8-13. We have a special guest speaker, Monica Schmidt coming to share, "Will the REAL Sherlock Holmes Please Stand Up." This presentation will delve into the differences and influences of the original literature of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to present day representations in media such as movies. We also have lots of activities for all ages from Family Lego Night to Teen Book Club.
