Defy by Sara B. Larson was recommended by a patron who has struggled to push through and finish a book, and I see why this one caught their attention. It is full of mystery, hidden identity, action, and romance. The kingdom is at war, but deception is at the heart of the war. What will be the outcome when the prince faces an attempted assassination and finally being kidnapped. This is the first book in a series and I am looking forward to reading the next one. I'll make sure that I don't lose it on the shelf.
The second book Is The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen. I'm just getting started, but I'm already anticipating an enjoyable read. Four young orphans have been swept away by a nobleman who plans to try to pass one of them off as the heir to the throne. How can this happen? Who would ever believe it? Why even go along with it? This book is promising lots of adventure and excitement. It has been recommended to me by more than one patron and also received an Iowa Teen Award nomination for 2015-2016. I'm sure that I will be reading the sequels to this novel also.
