One book that stands out as great family fun is Fat Cat by Robin Brande. This book held the attention of my children from oldest to youngest. Cat is in an advanced science class that assigns one project as the basis of the grade. Cat's approach to her assignment changes her life and helps her realize who her true friends are.
Another fun adventure is I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You by Ally Carter. This is the first in a series of spy stories. The Gallagher Academy is a girls school with a unique curriculum. They train girls to be spies. This book is lots of fun as we see Cammie Morgan and her friends get into trouble and back out again.
Cammie is the spy model for young girls, and Alex Rider is the model for boys. Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz is the first in a series of action packed adventures. Alex is living with his uncle when his uncle is killed in a car accident - at least that is what he is told. Alex doesn't think the facts are lining up quite right and decides to figure it out for himself. Little did he know that his uncle had been preparing him for the life ahead of him.
Maybe you have a classic that you always thought you would like to read and you might enjoy listening instead. Some suggestions include Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's, The Hound of the Baskervilles or Robert Louis Stevenson's, Treasure Island. Whatever it is that you enjoy reading, there is a good chance that we have something similar on our audio book shelf.
