If you've ever felt like someone was watching you, you might relate to the characters in The Cage by Megan Shepherd. The main characters in this story find themselves suddenly thrust into a place that is totally new. They don't know each other, or at least have never met each other, and they have no idea how they got here and why. But, someone is watching. Will our protagonists survive and find their way home?
My next choice is book two in a series. The Heart of Betrayal is the second in The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson. The first title in the series is The Kiss of Deception, and I was so excited for the second book to come out. It is a story of arranged marriages, hidden identities, and love. When the princess runs away to escape marrying a stranger, the prince takes off to hunt her down. Little did he know that an assassin was also on her tail and that in time they would both fall in love with her.
My final book for this week is The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh. This is a book about sacrifice, revenge, curses, and love. The kingdom has been cursed and the only way to see an end to the curse is for 100 brides to die. So, what would compel a young girl to volunteer for death? And, what is it that keeps her alive night after night? This was a can't put it down book and I'm looking forward to book two coming in 2016.
