Palace of Spies by Sarah Zettel is set in the time of King George I. This series is one of mystery, hidden identities, and espionage. Margaret Fitzroy finds herself thrown out of her uncle's house when she refuses to agree to an arranged marriage. But, there are people who are interested in Margaret (Peggy) and soon she is entertaining guests as one of the Princess's ladies in waiting. Finding herself in the service of the monarchy has its advantages. It also has more than enough danger for our protagonist.
I'm finally reading book three of this trilogy and the level of danger is as high as ever. As all of the loose ends come together, it will be very interesting to see which house is left standing and if anyone can come out unscathed.
