The first book that I will mention is Dumplin' by Julie Murphy. Dumplin is overweight, by society's standards. But, she is strong and confident and comfortable with who she is. Her story defies the stereotype as she enters the local beauty contest and shows herself to the world. She is an inspiring character.
The Cinderella Society by Kay Cassidy is a fight of good vs evil. Jess, our protagonist as been invited into the in crowd and it has transformed her life, until she finds out the real mission of the Cinderella Society. As they battle the Wickeds and try to make things right for those who don't belong, this book will show the strength that is found in acceptance and friendship.
Butter is written by Erin Jade Lange and it will pull at your heart. Butter is a nickname that stuck after a lunchroom incident where our protagonist is forced to eat a stick of butter. That was okay, Butter could live with that until he faces humiliation that again brings him into the limelight. So, he decides he will use this attention and create a website where he is counting down the days until he eats himself to death. The catch is that he is going to video tape it for the world to watch. I recommend that you read the book to find out what happens.
