First on my list is actually in the theaters right now. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancy is a dystopian trilogy that will have you wondering who you dare trust. When aliens look like friends and you literally grew up with them, it starts to feel safer to be alone. But, there is strength in numbers and there are still those out there that have not been infected. Book number two is The Infinite Sea, and the final book will be out in May and is The Last Star.
Another trilogy being turned into a movie starts with Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. This is followed by Hollow City and Library of Souls. This is a story of mystery as our protagonist is searching for answers to his grandfather's death and finds himself exploring an abandoned orphanage on a lost island.
Other books that we may see turned into movies include Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith, The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, Legend by Marie Lu, Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne, Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, and An Ember In the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. This list offers dystopian, fantasy, vampire, revolution...something for every reader and movie goer's interests.
