Week 5: Summer’s a Great Time for Learning!
Read!
Challenge 1:
You can always choose whatever you’re interested in for reading, but we recommend reading from our nonfiction section. Find something you’re interested in and learn something new. Just let us know that you read for at least 2 ½ hours and you’ll complete the challenge. If you choose this as your option, just select “Read” as your challenge when you’re in the “submissions” part of the site.
Watch!
Challenge 2:
Watch a Maker Camp video at makezine.com/maker-camp to learn some cool stuff! Look for videos under the “past camps” tab. Choose the Watch challenge and tells us about the video and something you learned in the comments box on the “submissions” page of this site.
Listen!
Challenge 3:
Create an audio version of your favorite children's book and upload it from the "submissions" page. Tell us the name of your book and anything interesting about creating the audio version in the comment box. Choose the “Listen” challenge on the “submissions” page of this site to make your submission.
Do!
Challenge 4:
Take the unplugged challenge! Take a trip back in time when our lives had less technology and turn off your phone, log off facebook, and leave your other devices at home. Spend one day totally unplugged and tell us what you did that day. Choose the “Do” challenge and tell us about your experience in the comment box on the “submissions” page.
Here are some
suggested books for
nonfiction interests.
